6 Extra-Curricular Programs Your Kids Can Join After School

As parents, we want our children to a wholistic kind of development. We not only want our kids to excel in academics, but we want to enhance their inner talents, and develop essential traits like discipline and confidence. One way to do this is to enroll them in programs during their extra time after school or on the weekends. 1. Yoga

Who says yoga is just for adults? Head over to PurpleTree DayCare Center and enroll your kids in an hour of kids yoga. As young as they are, children will learn how to build concentration and develop body awareness. Whether balancing a posture or moving through a series of poses, a child can feel the relaxing effect of taking this class.

 

2. Archery

Improve your kids’ balance, coordination, and strength by learning this sport! Archery also instills discipline and boosts self-control. The Archery Academy Manila offers different programs to anyone who is willing to learn. They offer a full, year-round program every Wednesday to Friday, or Saturday to Sunday, by schedule.

 

3. Music

Have your kids learn how to play the drums and piano at Toddlers Unlimited. From June onwards, they offer weekday and Saturday classes for kids to enroll in. Piano classes are 30-45 minutes per class, while drum lessons are usually an hour. Want to develop that inner singing prowess? They also have a group voice class every Saturdays starting in June 2018.

 

4. Martial Arts

Learning self-defense is important not just for adults but for kids too. As posted in the KMA website, “Martial arts training offers children invaluable benefits, including self-defense skills, coordination, exercise, increased muscle mass, confidence, mental alertness, enduring friendships, discipline, and focus”.  KMA offers a wide range of self-defense classes including Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, Muay Thai, and Taekwando. Classes are from 8:00-5:30 PM, Mondays to Sundays. And what’s great is that students can train anytime at this schedule, with an instructor for 45 minutes per class.

 

5. Art

Are your kids into arts? Enroll them at Una Casita, and let them learn the different art and crafting techniques! Kids get to create new materials out of old ones. Each day, there is a new useful craft to learn. Each session is divided into different learning segments such as art technique exploration, planning, execution, and processing. They may be asked to work independently or in groups, then later on have the chance to present their work of art.

 

6. Swimming

Hone that skill in your children by enrolling them in swimming lessons! Bert Lozada Swimming school offers private classes for babies as young as 6 months old! What’s good about private lessons is learning at the comfort of your own homes during at your own schedule. Your kids’ daily routines, especially their nap times, will not be compromised! While solo programs are available, they also have a group program for a maximum of 5 enrollees having different swim levels. Trainers are available from Monday to Sunday.
