Baby and Breakfast: Entertainment 2019 Movies That Your Whole Family Should Watch Out For!

1. Bumblebee

Tentative release date in the Philippines: January 8, 2019

Kick-starting the new year is the well loved Autobot, Bumblebee, getting a spotlight in what seems to be a different take from the former Transformers installment. I love the fact that this movie stars Hailee Steinfield as the protagonist! Gone are the days when girls are just damsels in distress or love interests in action-packed movies–about time! Hooray for girl power!

2. Mary Poppins Returns

Tentative release date in the Philippines: January 8, 2019

Everything is possible, even the impossible in Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns! The musical sequel to the 1964 classic will remind us what’s it’s like to be a child again–most certainly a movie for the whole family, including mom and dad!

3. The Kid Who Would Be King

Tentative release date in the Philippines: January 23, 2019

A modern take on the legend of King Arthur and his mythical sword, Excalibur, but with a super fun twist as it stars Alex, a 12-year-old, regular schoolboy who’s now destined to lead while fighting evil and saving the world.

4. How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World

Tentative release date in the Philippines: March 1, 2019

Finally, it’s not only Hiccup who’s got a happy heart, as Toothless finds love in the beautiful Light Fury! But more than that, this movie continues to talk about the importance of love, friendship, and unity–definitely a must watch!

5. Wonder Park

Tentative release date in the Philippines: March 14, 2019

As children, our imagination is as wild as it can get, and our creativity goes beyond measures. But as we grow older, somehow we seem to lose a part of it, as we tend to focus on the real life. Wonder Park reminds us to embrace our creativity and wild imagination as we’ll never know when it might actually come to life.

6. Dumbo

Tentative release date in the Philippines: March 27, 2019

An old classic reimagined, with the wonders of director Tim Burton. It’s a story about family, courage, and embracing one’s uniqueness. With Tim Burton’s magic, I feel that this is going to be one emotional roller coaster ride!

7. Shazam

Tentative release date in the Philippines: April 4, 2019

Standing up when someone is being bullied already makes you a superhero, but in Billy Batson’s case, a little magic was added as he gets chosen to inherit Shazam’s super powers! It’s one hilarious adventure of a 14-year-old boy’s new life as a superhero.

8. Missing Link

Tentative release date in the Philippines: April 12, 2019

A refreshing and very interesting story of Mr. Link, a beast in search of his family and finding it in places he least expects. It’s light and funny, but with good moral lessons about acceptance and family.

9. Pokemon Detective Pikachu

Tentative release date in the Philippines: May 9, 2019

Pikachu in live action? This is going to be exciting! The super cute Pokemon we’ve grown to love can actually talk, and nope it ain’t just “Pika, pika”. It features the voice of Ryan Reynolds, and I don’t think they could have chosen a better voice actor than him!

10. Ugly Dolls

Tentative release date in the Philippines: May 10, 2019

The perfect movie to celebrate imperfections, because we all don’t need to be perfect to be amazing in this world!

11. Aladdin

Tentative release date in the Philippines: May 24, 2019

Another magical Disney story coming to life! I wonder if Lea Salonga will still be Jasmine’s singing voice? I sure do hope so!

12. Toy Story 4

Tentative release date in the Philippines: June 21, 2019

Our beloved toys are back! And this time, with a new addition to the team, Forky! While not much has been said about the sequel, I’m sure all Toy Story fans (like me) are crazy excited to watch it! I heard it will be quite emotional (as if all the others were not), and I always find myself teary-eyed whenever I watch it.

13. The Lion King

Tentative release date in the Philippines: July 19, 2019

From the director of Jungle Book, Jon Favreau, Disney’s live action of The Lion King will take us on a magnificent retelling of Simba’s beloved tale. A great way for the kids of this generation to appreciate this beautiful story!

14. Spies in Disguise

Tentative release date in the Philippines: September 13, 2019

What happens when the best spy in the world gets turned into a bird? I have absolutely no idea! Haha! But I know for sure that this movie will be super fun to watch–made even more awesome with the voice of Will Smith as the spy, and Spiderman’s Tom Holland as the scientist.

There’s a whole lot more to watch out for (as the Ice Queen, Elsa, is rumored to hit the big screens once more!) including Max in the Secret Life of Pets, and even Dora is said to do a live-action film. On top of that, there’s also a continuation of the sci-fi saga, Star Wars, set to come out late this year! So keep your eyes peeled, and make sure to set aside some movie and popcorn budget for family movie dates that are sure blockbuster hits.
