6 Safety Tips on Christmas Decorating That Every Mom Should Read

The holiday season is here! I’m sure you’re super excited to decorate your home with ornaments, poinsettias, tinsels, and stockings! But aside from making your space look #PinterestWorthy, you should not forget about your kids’ safety. We asked mom and interior designer, Peaches de Guzman-Grey, for some safety precautions that you should remember when it comes to decorating your house for the holidays.

Place glass or ceramic ornaments high above your kids’ reach to avoid any accidents.

Examine your Christmas lights and make sure all the lightbulbs are working before plugging them into sockets.

If you have little toddlers at home, avoid using small decorations, as they might accidentally put them in their mouth.

Paper is flammable, so make sure you keep it away from candles or Christmas lights.

Keep your extension cords hidden, as these might entangle or cause your kids to trip.

Keep your house safe by turning off your Christmas lights when not in use. This practice will also help you cut costs from your electric bill, too!
