Sneaky Ways to Get Your Kids to Eat Veggies (Without Them Noticing!)

Oh the struggle of making our kids eat veggies! While there are a few kids who don’t seem to mind the greens, majority of the kiddie population treat veggies like the plague. But can you blame them? We were probably the same when we were younger! Unfortunately (for our kids), veggies and greens are packed with vitamins and minerals that are good for our bodies. So how do we make our kids eat these healthy and nutritious food? Well, we’ve got a few sneaky tips for you! Check them out below.

Sneaky Ways to Get Your Kids to Eat Veggies (Without Them Noticing!)

Camouflage

Know the art of hiding veggies in other kinds of food. You can grate carrots into your kids’ favorite spaghetti sauce, you can juice a cucumber and add some apple juice to mask the taste. The best thing about this? Your kids will be getting their dose of vitamins and minerals, without being any wiser!

Make it pretty, fun, and interesting

For some of us, eating is done not only by our mouths, but also by our eyes. If we see pretty food (hello, Instagram!), then we’ll definitely want to eat it. The same goes for our kids. A lot of the time, kids don’t want to eat their vegetables because they look “gross.” But if you pack your kids a cucumber character with carrot stick hair and corn eyes, they’ll be so aliw with it, they just might eat it.

Get your kids involved

When kids (or anyone actually) gets involved in something, the less likely they are to refuse it. You can get your kids involved in the kitchen by letting them help you assemble a salad or stir the stir-fried vegetables. You can even get them some vegetable seeds which they can grow in the garden too!

Have some variety

If you have salad all the time, your kids will quickly get tired of lettuce and tomatoes. Plan your menu ahead of time and put in different vegetable dishes for your kids to try. You can introduce some veggies with dips, cheeses, and sauces. Who knows? They might even find their favorite one (fingers crossed)!

Encourage and praise them

Encouragement and praise go a long way in getting your kids to do something. Encourage your kids to try different kinds of veggies, and praise them when they eat something without you telling them to, try out a new veggie, or even try to make their own veggie creations.

Be a role model

If you don’t like veggies yourself, well, we’ve got some bad news. You’re going to have to eat them if you want your kids to. If they see you eating your vegetables, they’ll see that veggies aren’t so bad because mommy is eating them!
