Picking a name for your child may seem fun at first, but it’s not easy. Sure, there are probably plenty of names that are whizzing around in your mind, but having to pick THE perfect name? It’s a lot of pressure, right? But don’t worry mommas, you are not alone. In fact, today we’re breaking down the ten stages that parents go through when it comes to picking their baby’s name. See if you can relate!

1. Being excited to choose a name for my human being

2. Realizing that I have so many great names to choose from!

3. Should I go for a classic name like Alexandra? Or a pop culture name like North West?

4. Thinking of the possible nicknames, and stressing over his or her initials.

5. I think I need to narrow it down to… 50 options–just in case!

6. We know the gender, that should help us eliminate at least a few names, right?

7. We can’t settle on a name! Should I ask help from my family members?

8. Just kidding! That would be more complicated. Maybe I’ll just wait until my due date is near.

9. I’m in labor, and we need to decide if this is THE Name right now!

10. Finally! I have a beautiful baby, and the name I choose actually fits perfectly.
